October Stitch Fix #2 Review

One comment

I received my Stitch fix numberrrrr 2 this month. I signed up for the Style Pass, so I paid a one-time yearly fee of $49, and I get as many fixes as I want within that year. If you remember, my last fix wasn’t that great. Did it make me unsubscribe to Stitch Fix? Heck No. Do I still love this subscription service? Absolutely! This month I had a different stylist than I have had since I started, but my box was still pretty great and definitely my style. Howeverrrrrr, everything in my box didn’t fit the way I liked, so I won’t be keeping everything.

striped shirt
COLETTE
Chavez Pop Color Cuff Knit Top
$48

I wanted to start this review off on a happy note, so I wanted to talk about the shirt I really loved. I cheated and saw what I was getting before it arrived, and when I saw this shirt I was a little skeptical. The yellow on the sleeves were a little weird to me, but after I tried it on I really liked it. The material is very soft and soooo comfortable. Stripes are a pattern that I actually really like, but I don’t have a lot of shirts like this. I feel like this would be a really nice shirt to wear to work or to wear casually. Usually, I prefer my shirts to be longer at the bottom, and this shirt didn’t disappoint. It was definitely a pleasant surprise when I tried it on, and it just speaks to the unpredictability and intrigue of stitch fix. You get to try on clothes that you normally wouldn’t, and you might end up loving them. I don’t really have any complaints about this, and I’m definitely keeping this one.

While the top wasn’t something I thought I would like (but I ended up loving), this jacket was the opposite. When I saw it, I realllllllly liked it. I thought the color would be perfect for fall.

Jacket
MARKET & SPRUCE
Kathleen Cargo Jacket
$88

I figured I would absolutely buy this one without a doubt. Welllllll, when I tried it on. My thoughts changed. BUT only just a little. I still really like it, and I may keep it. I’m not completely sure yet. After I send everything back, I may post an update on twitter, we’ll see. Anyway, I liked that this was long enough to cover my booty, and it fit well enough that I could zip and button it (which is surprisingly hard for me to find since I am a plus size princess). The only thing I didn’t like was the feel of the sleeves. Picky? Yes, I know. If the inside of this jacket was plush.. furry?.. Idk. I’m talking about the soft, warm material in some jackets. If this jacket had that, it would be perfect. I could probably get over the weird feeling of the sleeves because it is really cute. BTWs, this jacket is really expensive… but I would justify it by saying that my styling fee would be for this item. Would it be worth it, though? Hmmmm.. idk. I’m undecided.

blue pants
WARP + WEFT
Mattie Skinny Jean
$78

The color of these pants are amazing. They are a darker blue IRL than in the picture. When I saw I was getting these, I knew they weren’t going to fit me right. I tried to be positive and think they might be different, but they weren’t. To be honest, I have never liked any jeans by this brand. They just never fit me right. They are tight in the wrong spots and too loose in others. Again, I hate jeans that make my booty look weird, and these did. If they would have fit better, I would have considered keeping them because I don’t own a pair of jeans this color. These just may not fit my body type, and they are not right for me. Sadly, I won’t be buying these because I absolutely loved the color. Fortunately,  I can save $78 (or spend it on something else), by not buying these. It’s all a matter of perspective. 🙂

While those pants may have been a little disappointing, these pants were anything but. They were the most comfortable pants I have ever put on my body that weren’t pajamas or leggings. At first glance, you may say “ummm, Sam, those are leggings”. Well, my reply would be, “you might think that, but no, they are not”. (Creative, I know).

ONE5ONE
Wesley Skinny Pant
$38

They are a “skinny pant” that would look very professional for work and very cute paired with some boots and a long shirt (have I mentioned that I love long shirts?) The hems at the ankles are a little long, so I wouldn’t consider these ankle skinnies. I actually prefer when they are a bit longer, because I think they are more comfortable than pants that stop at my ankles. Is that weird? Am I the only one? Maybe. I’m keeping these. I love them. They’re comfortable. They’re $38, not too bad. End of discussion. I’m done. These are mine. The only bad thing about them is that now I need to go buy me some cute boots to go with them. Maybe I can use the $78 that I saved from not buying the blue pants. Hmmm? Sounds like a good idea, right?

The last thing I got in this box is this sweater, and I don’t know if I want to keep it or not. Let’s start with what I like…

sweater
ABSOLUTELY
Viveca Crochet Panel Pullover
$44

It’s black. I love black clothes. They are slimming, and I don’t think you can go wrong with black. The material is so soft and comfortable. It has a cute pattern on the neckline, so it isn’t just a plain black sweater. I don’t have anything else like this in my closet.  And so for the negative. It’s tooooo short! 😦 I need long shirts. STITCH FIX, send me LONGGGG SHIRTSS! (jk, i love you stitch fix. I didn’t mean to yell). If this was longer, and the sleeves were an inch longer, it would be perfect. I would have no complaints. I would buy it no questions asked. Life is not perfect, and neither is this sweater. I’m debating whether to keep it or not. Would $44 dollars for a mediocre sweater that I may or may not wear often be worth it? I. don’t. know. Help me. What are your thoughts on this one & the jacket? Help me decide because I am really indecisive when it comes to this box in particular. I’ve never really had this hard of a choice before.

This box is killing me a little inside. Everything is cute, but my pickiness is getting the best of me. Let me know what you think of these items. If you have tried stitch fix before, share your thoughts because I am interested if I am the only person that has this dilemma. If you haven’t tried it, but would like to then I will leave my referral code at the bottom. If you use my referral code, you will get a $25 credit to use on your first box plus I get a $25 dollar credit. It’s amazing. You should try it. The only downside is that you might become addicted and go broke. Sorry, I will continue enable you.

They also have other subscriptions for men and children. I have purchased a box for my son, but it hasn’t arrived yet. I may do a collaborative post with my 8-year-old to review his box. If you would be interested in that, let me know in a comment or share your thoughts with me on twitter.
